Winning over resistance through results

Winning over resistance through results

If there is a time when we feel we are on the right track, it is whenever we manage to break down stereotypes that have long been entrenched in the world of home textiles. One of these is, for example, the fact that there are no manufacturers abroad that are able to offer very high quality standards, while at the same time guaranteeing that distinctive and advantageous relationship between quantity and price. With our supervision, this is a tangible and achievable prospect at its best.

Preconceptions are made to be broken down. In this sentence we have always read an invitation, a sort of encouragement to do our best to ensure that old ways of interpreting reality - in our specific case, the world of home textiles - could give way to more elastic visions in line with the times we are living in.

For example, are we really sure that there are no manufacturers abroad that can guarantee extremely high product quality? We can guarantee that such realities do exist, but above all, we are able to prove it thanks to the results achieved with several customers who have decided to rely on Calmonte. The last, but not least, was a well-known Italian home textile brand strongly rooted, from a production point of view, in the territory. In its history it had never allowed itself to be bewitched by the ‘foreign sirens of good prices’, convinced that the only way to maintain its very high product standards was to concentrate production - always based on rather limited numbers - in its own country. But, as we know, the market evolves very quickly, and so for this brand too came the request, as dreaded as it was indispensable, to acquire the licence for a major promotional operation that required the production of more than 100,000 garments.

For the brand in question, these were numbers never seen before, as well as totally unexpected. To concentrate the production of such a quantity of goods in Italy would have meant incurring unsustainable expenses; on the other hand, the doubt was that they would not be able to respect the very high production level, in terms of materials, finishes and product packaging. Faced with this dilemma, the customer decided to turn to Calmonte. Our dense network of collaborators abroad, first of all allowed us to identify the perfect supplier for these needs: a very large oriental company capable of guaranteeing very high quality standards. The first problem was therefore solved. However, we are aware that, with proper research, it would have been possible for our client to identify this company as well. The real added value that Calmonte offered was that it was able to guarantee him ‘premium’ treatment (i.e. maximum attention in the production phase), which he would never have been able to obtain if he had approached a company of this size independently for a single operation. Such realities, located thousands of kilometres away, see in Calmonte a concrete bridge to connect to the Italian market, and therefore reserve for us - and our client companies - first-class treatment. What's more, and this is a factor to be absolutely taken into account, our presence at every stage (from the creative conception of the product, through to supervision during production and packaging), guaranteed that typical Made in Italy care that our client absolutely did not want to lose. With this experience, which produced the maximum of the expected results, we were therefore able to create a double opportunity: broaden the customer's prospects with respect to the possibility of collaborating with foreign manufacturers, and at the same time create a desired connection on the part of the supplier to get in touch with Italian customers and thus acquire know-how that is recognised worldwide. And then, we were able to give concrete form to a concept that is very dear to us: the value of a great company can only be recognised if someone is able to fully exploit its potential.
